Embraer, Brazil’s leading aircraft exporter, delivered 212 commercial and executive jets in 2024, company figures show. The manufacturer has forecast steady growth in the regional jet segment amid fleet renewal by airlines recovering from pandemic-era disruptions. Strata’s involvement is expected to diversify Embraer’s supply base beyond traditional Western providers.
Strata Manufacturing operates as a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, which has positioned the UAE as an emerging aerospace hub since the firm’s establishment in 2009. The company already manufactures parts for Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X programs, according to Mubadala disclosures. This latest collaboration marks Strata’s first major aerostructures tie-up with a Latin American manufacturer.
Global demand for new commercial aircraft remains robust, with Boeing’s Commercial Market Outlook projecting a need for more than 42,000 new jets over the next 20 years to meet passenger traffic growth. Industry data from the International Air Transport Association indicates Asia-Pacific and Middle East carriers will drive much of that expansion. Partnerships such as the one between Strata and Embraer help address supply-chain pressures that have slowed production rates since 2022.
The announcement underscores the UAE’s broader push into high-technology manufacturing, where aerospace contributes an increasing share of non-oil GDP, Central Bank of the UAE statistics confirm. Strata has invested heavily in research and development facilities equipped with state-of-the-art composite layup machines. Executives from both companies attended the formal signing ceremony in Abu Dhabi, the Emirates News Agency said.
Further terms of the agreement, including volume commitments and timelines for initial deliveries, were not disclosed in the initial release. The partnership aligns with Embraer’s strategy to strengthen its commercial aviation division following a post-pandemic order surge.
