Sharjah Charity International reported that the medical aid included a variety of treatments for patients suffering from critical illnesses. The sum covered surgical procedures, hospital stays and ongoing medication for beneficiaries from several countries. The charity’s first-half figures represent an increase from the corresponding period in 2025 when aid reached 650 patients, according to previous statements from the organisation.

The breakdown showed that 350 patients received support for surgical interventions while 280 benefited from chronic disease management programs. The remaining 169 patients accessed diagnostic services and specialist consultations, the charity’s data indicated. Officials noted that the average aid per patient stood at approximately AED29,412 during the period.

In addition to direct patient support, Sharjah Charity International partnered with several hospitals in the UAE and abroad to facilitate the treatments. These collaborations ensured that patients received high-quality care in specialized facilities. The partnerships have been a cornerstone of the charity’s health initiatives for over a decade, a review of the organisation’s annual reports showed.

The UAE government has encouraged such charitable efforts as part of its humanitarian strategy, with the Ministry of Community Development registering numerous similar organisations. Data from the ministry places total charitable medical aid from UAE-based groups at more than AED500 million annually in recent years. This environment has enabled entities like Sharjah Charity International to expand their reach to vulnerable populations.

Sharjah Charity International, established in Sharjah, operates projects in more than 50 countries focusing on health, education and emergency relief. The organisation’s latest initiative aligns with broader efforts to address healthcare gaps in developing regions. Further updates on the charity’s activities are expected in its full-year report due later in 2026.
