The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi announced this week that it will launch ‘LEGO SHOWS Natural Brickstory’ on September 15 as part of its ongoing efforts to blend interactive play with scientific education for families across the UAE. According to a statement from the museum, the exhibition will feature large-scale LEGO models depicting dinosaurs, marine life and geological formations drawn from the museum’s permanent collections that opened to the public in November 2025. Museum officials stated that the initiative aims to engage younger audiences with hands-on activities including brick-building sessions led by certified LEGO educators.

A report from the museum detailed that the exhibition will occupy a dedicated interactive gallery within the Saadiyat Island cultural district facility, which National Geographic noted in July 2026 houses more than 300 hyper-realistic models and dioramas created by Weta Workshop including a 15-metre Shastasaurus marine reptile. The LEGO displays will complement these installations by allowing visitors to construct their own versions of prehistoric creatures using thousands of bricks supplied on site. Museum figures show that family-oriented programming has accounted for 65 percent of visitor engagement since the venue’s debut last year.

LEGO SHOWS Natural Brickstory builds on the popularity of the LEGO Icons Natural History Museum set 10326 released in 2024, which a LEGO product overview described as containing an array of brick-built science exhibits and seven minifigures. The museum statement indicated that certified instructors will host daily workshops where participants can learn basic construction techniques while absorbing lessons on biodiversity and earth sciences. Organizers expect the exhibition to attract more than 50,000 visitors in its first three months based on attendance patterns at similar interactive installations.

The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi forms part of the emirate’s cultural investments on Saadiyat Island, where visitor data from the museum’s website shows ongoing August 2026 programming such as the ‘Into Sea and Sky – A Field Expedition Into Deep Time’ activity that has drawn consistent family crowds. In the LEGO exhibition, participants will earn badges and field notebooks similar to those used in the current expeditions, reinforcing scientific observation skills through playful construction. Museum representatives noted that the collaboration with LEGO marks the first time the institution has integrated a global toy brand into its core educational programming.

Further details released by the museum outline evening sessions for older children and adults focusing on advanced building techniques that replicate fossil excavation processes and ecosystem modeling. The exhibition will remain open through the end of 2026 with ticket prices aligned to standard museum entry fees. Organizers highlighted that all activities comply with UAE educational standards for informal learning environments.
