The fifth leg in China follows earlier rounds of the third edition held in Australia, Bahrain, Morocco and the United States, the Emirates News Agency noted in coverage of the series. Italy is scheduled to host the sixth leg in November before the edition concludes in Brazil later that month. The competition series operates under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who serves as chairman of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society.
A prior edition of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup attracted 791 horses belonging to approximately 460 owners and breeders from around the world, according to figures published by the Emirates News Agency. That edition distributed AED 3.986 million in prize money, with 488 horses and 342 owners securing awards across its international stops. The initiative seeks to support Arabian horse owners, breeders and the global advancement of the breed while highlighting the UAE’s role in preserving this heritage.
Organizers selected the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Centre to host the China leg in recognition of growing interest in Arabian horses across Asia. The Emirates News Agency indicated that the festival setting helped bring together competitors focused on conformation and breeding standards rather than racing performance. Results from the event contribute to the cumulative standings that will determine overall honors at the conclusion of the full series in Brazil.
