The Dubai Future Foundation has released details of The Challenge as one of the flagship elements of Dubai Future Week, which is scheduled to run from November 18 to 21 2026 across Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future under the theme For the Human of the Future. Organizers expect the week to draw more than 10,000 attendees focused on how emerging technologies are reshaping daily life, business operations and governance structures. A statement issued by the foundation and carried by the Emirates News Agency positioned the program as a platform to advance international discussion on the applied use of frontier technologies. The initiative aligns with Dubai’s longstanding drive to establish itself as a destination for global innovators in artificial intelligence and robotics.
The AI Grandmaster contest builds directly on the Global Prompt Engineering Championship held in 2025, which drew more than 3,800 applications from 125 countries. Twenty shortlisted AI specialists will compete in live elimination rounds that test capabilities in multi-model orchestration, product architecture, system integration and delivery of measurable outcomes under strict time limits. The eventual winner will claim the title of Dubai AI Grandmaster together with a prize of AED 1 million. According to the foundation, the expanded format moves beyond basic prompting to evaluate end-to-end engineering skills.
The Challenge will also feature the finals of the fourth Emirates Robotics Competition, organized by Dubai Future Labs in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai, Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Mohammed bin Rashid Library and the American University of Sharjah. Competing university teams must design an autonomous library assistant robot that can identify, grasp, navigate and deliver books, with evaluation centered on perception, planning and autonomy software rather than hardware variations. All teams will work from an identical robotic platform, ensuring that innovation in code and problem-solving determines the outcome.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said in the statement, “AI, robotics and advanced computing are tools, but their real value lies in how people use them to solve problems, expand opportunities and improve lives.” The executive added that the event seeks to enrich global dialogue around the practical deployment of these technologies in real-world settings. His remarks underscored the foundation’s focus on human-centered applications of advanced systems.
A Grand View Research assessment found that the UAE artificial intelligence in robotics market generated USD 331.6 million in 2025 and is forecast to reach USD 2,256.8 million by 2033, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 27.3 percent between 2026 and 2033.[[1]](https://www.grandviewresearch.com/horizon/outlook/artificial-intelligence-in-robotics-market/uae) The outlook identified hardware as the largest segment while software is expected to record the fastest growth. Such expansion reflects sustained government and private-sector investment in automation across logistics, healthcare and manufacturing in the UAE.
Previous editions of related competitions have drawn widespread international participation, with the 2025 prompt engineering event alone generating entries from 125 countries. The upcoming program continues this trajectory by combining high-value prizes, live demonstrations and academic partnerships to position Dubai as a magnet for specialized talent. Dubai Future Labs, the organizing unit within the foundation, has coordinated similar robotics challenges in prior years with consistent involvement from leading regional universities.
