Gulf News reported on July 26 that Emirati racer Alya Abdulsalam is intensifying her preparations for the 2026 UIM Formula 4 World Championship through a high-performance training camp in Songe, Norway. The camp ran from July 25 to August 6 as the final phase of her build-up for the international season. Abdulsalam, driver for the 2050Sports F4 Racing Team, will next head to Viverone, Italy, before returning for the Norwegian event.

The racer will first take part in the UIM Formula 4 World Championship round in Viverone from August 7 to 9. She is then scheduled to compete in the Norwegian Grand Prix in Drammen from August 21 to 23. This sequence of races forms a key stretch in her 2026 campaign.

Abdulsalam made history as the first Emirati woman to participate in Formula 4 powerboat racing, according to her official website. She secured an international driving license at age 23 to enable her entry into global competition. The National reported in July 2024 that she was preparing for her initial appearance in the Scandinavian Championship at Tonsberg Lake in Norway.

Abdulsalam told The National in that interview that she looked forward to racing in Norway and gaining experience in F4 events. She credited support from her family and the national federation for helping advance her career. The backing has allowed her to pursue opportunities across local, Gulf and international levels.

The Norwegian Grand Prix forms part of the UIM Formula 4 Powerboat Championship calendar of international events. Abdulsalam’s participation builds on her earlier debut in Norwegian waters during the 2024 Scandinavian Championship. Her ongoing campaign includes consistent training and multiple rounds to develop further in the series.
