According to the Emirates News Agency, the UAE golf delegation is scheduled to leave on Saturday for the event in China. The group includes players selected by the Emirates Golf Federation to represent the country in the international competition. Preparation for the tournament has been a key focus for the national setup in recent weeks.

The Nomura Cup is a biennial amateur golf team championship organised by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation since its inception in 1963. Recent editions have featured 19 participating nations competing over four days of stroke play, with the two best individual scores from each three-player team counting toward the daily total. An individual champion is also crowned after 72 holes, according to the confederation’s format description.

The UAE has a track record in the competition, including a 20th place finish when it hosted the event in Abu Dhabi in 2015, a tournament summary from the Emirates Golf Federation showed. Japan claimed the team title that year while China has been among the consistent performers in past editions. The current trip to China marks another chapter in the UAE’s involvement in the championship.

Emirates Golf Federation officials have selected a competitive squad for the challenge in China. The players will look to build on their domestic form during the international test. The federation has invested in coaching and facilities to support such outings.

Participation in the Nomura Cup provides exposure to high-level competition for UAE golfers, the federation has indicated in previous statements. The event has grown significantly from its early years when only a handful of countries took part. Tournament records place Japan and Australia as the most successful nations with multiple titles each.
