The Museum of the Future announced that it received over 20,000 applications for the newly created Future Perfects positions in the first 48 hours after applications opened this week. The roles form part of the visitor experience team and will support a reimagined visitor journey when the museum reopens in 2027. According to the Emirates News Agency, the initiative has generated significant interest by focusing on personal qualities rather than traditional qualifications.
Museum officials described Future Perfects as individuals who combine guiding and storytelling to engage visitors on topics including science, technology, nature and society. The museum’s recruitment portal states that no prior experience in museums or customer service is required, with selection based instead on curiosity, emotional intelligence, adaptability and communication skills. Applications remain open until November 8, with candidates able to submit video auditions online or at designated in-person locations.
The selection process begins with an online form and a four-minute video audition that requires no preparation, the museum’s official Future Perfects site shows. Shortlisted applicants advance to live assessments and a final casting day before an expert judging panel that evaluates how candidates connect with others and respond in real-time scenarios. WAM reported that the museum is also accepting public nominations for potential candidates through its social media platforms.
Since opening on February 22, 2022, the Museum of the Future has welcomed more than 5 million visitors from over 180 nationalities, according to figures released by the museum earlier this year. The institution has hosted 620 events, conferences and talks along with 224 educational programmes and workshops on subjects ranging from artificial intelligence to sustainable cities. In 2025 alone, it received nine heads of state and 46 ministers alongside numerous diplomatic delegations, museum records indicate.
Successful Future Perfects will start full-time contracts in November 2026 on a two-year term, the recruitment materials state. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UAE, speak fluent English and be available immediately, with Arabic language skills listed as an advantage. The museum’s approach forms part of broader preparations for its 2027 reopening that aim to make complex future-oriented ideas accessible to diverse audiences.
The program reflects the museum’s evolution since its launch, when it positioned itself as a hub for global dialogue on innovation and foresight. Museum statements note that Future Perfects will help transform visitor encounters into personal and relevant conversations. Applications can be submitted through the dedicated portal.
