The Emirates News Agency reported that Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, received Anatol Vangheli, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the UAE, at the Government Entities Building in the Ruler’s Court where the Ajman Crown Prince receives Moldovan Ambassador. During the session Al Nuaimi welcomed the ambassador and his delegation while both sides reviewed prospects for stronger ties across multiple areas. The ambassador expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noted the UAE’s prominent regional and international position along with the developmental progress under way in Ajman. Such diplomatic exchanges form part of Ajman’s ongoing outreach to international partners.
Bilateral trade between the UAE and Moldova has registered measurable volumes in recent years even as the two sides look to broaden their economic footprint. United Nations COMTRADE database figures show the UAE exported goods worth $3.71 million to Moldova in 2024, led by electrical and electronic equipment at $1.48 million followed by vehicles and machinery. The same data places UAE imports from Moldova at $14.73 million for the year, spanning categories that include aircraft components, edible preparations and apparel. These flows illustrate a trade relationship that diplomatic meetings such as the one in Ajman aim to enlarge.
Moldovan authorities have similarly tracked the UAE as a destination offering strategic value for their exporters. A presentation by the Moldovan Investment Agency placed exports to the UAE at 6.97 million euros in 2024 and recorded a positive trade balance of 4.05 million euros for Moldova. Principal shipments included fresh fruits, ice cream, medicines and apparel, according to the agency overview. The figures highlight complementary economic profiles that could support further collaboration in agriculture, manufacturing and technology.
Several senior officials joined the Crown Prince for the reception, underscoring institutional interest in the dialogue. Those present included members of the Ajman Executive Council and heads of key departments. The format mirrors other ambassadorial visits the emirate has hosted to advance partnerships aligned with the UAE’s wider foreign policy priorities.
Diplomatic contact between the UAE and Moldova stretches back more than three decades, supplying a foundation for the latest engagement. The ambassador’s call follows a series of comparable meetings with envoys from different countries that consistently focus on mutual investment and sectoral coordination. Ajman has used such occasions to position itself as an accessible hub for global business networks.
Both parties agreed at the close of the meeting to keep communication channels active for follow-up on shared interests. The session reflects a consistent pattern in which routine diplomatic receptions help translate broad relations into tangible opportunities. Recent trade statistics suggest scope for growth that future contacts could help realise.
