The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry is dispatching representatives to the WorldFood Moscow exhibition next week, where they will promote food and beverage items produced in the emirate. The four-day event at Crocus Expo offers a platform for networking with importers, distributors and retailers from Russia and surrounding regions. Chamber officials aim to identify new business opportunities and strengthen trade connections as part of ongoing efforts to grow Ajman’s industrial exports.

WorldFood Moscow 2026 is expected to feature more than 1,100 exhibitors from over 30 countries, according to organisers’ projections published on the exhibition website. The fair will attract upwards of 26,000 trade professionals from 80 nations and 60 Russian regions, covering sectors including confectionery, dairy, halal products and ingredients. A parallel business programme will include forums on retail trends and supply chain developments.

Bilateral trade between the UAE and Russia reached significant levels in recent years, with UAE exports to Russia totalling $4.43 billion in 2024, Trading Economics figures show. The UAE shipped nearly $1.86 million worth of dates to the Russian market in 2023, World Integrated Trade Solution data from the World Bank indicates. Such participation by Ajman firms aligns with broader national goals to diversify export destinations for non-oil products.

The chamber’s initiative, described as Ajman Chamber to participate in WorldFood Moscow to expand local product markets, builds on its recent activities at other global fairs including Gulfood in Dubai earlier this year. Industrial establishments registered with the chamber grew by 10 percent in the second half of 2025 compared with the prior period, according to Ajman Chamber statistics. This expansion has increased the availability of competitive food manufacturing capacity within the emirate.

Similar moves by other GCC participants underscore regional interest in the Eurasian food sector, with Oman sending 16 companies to the same exhibition and Egypt dispatching around 20, local reports from Muscat Daily and Daily News Egypt stated. The Ajman delegation will focus on one-on-one meetings to showcase product quality and compliance with international standards. Exhibition data from previous editions showed that more than half of attendees expressed readiness to make purchases following the event.

Chamber leaders have positioned the Moscow trip as a direct response to rising demand for diverse food imports in Russia and Central Asia. The event’s emphasis on both retail and hospitality channels provides comprehensive market insights for Ajman producers. Follow-up activities are anticipated to include distribution agreements and potential joint ventures emerging from contacts made during the exhibition.
