Aldar Properties generated AED 1.5 billion in sales during the launch of The Canopies at Yas Point, the company said in a statement. The figure reflects sales across a range of residential units in the project, which forms part of the broader Yas Point masterplan on Yas Island. The development offers residents direct waterfront access along with proximity to the island’s established leisure and entertainment attractions. Abu Dhabi’s real estate market has expanded steadily in recent years, with off-plan sales forming a growing share of transactions.

The Canopies development consists of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and townhouses designed with a focus on community-oriented living. Yas Point itself is positioned as a mixed-use destination that will eventually include retail, dining and public spaces alongside residential components. Aldar has developed multiple projects on Yas Island over the past decade, contributing to the area’s evolution into a residential and tourism hub. A report from Knight Frank earlier this year noted that Abu Dhabi’s residential sector recorded transaction volumes exceeding 35,000 units in 2025, up from previous years.

According to the company’s statement, the launch event drew significant participation from both local and international buyers seeking properties in the capital’s prime locations. The sales performance at The Canopies aligns with Aldar’s wider portfolio activity, where the developer has consistently delivered projects ahead of schedule across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Public data from the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport shows that Yas Island has seen rising property values, driven by infrastructure improvements and sustained demand for modern housing options.

Aldar stated that construction on The Canopies is set to begin shortly, with completion targeted for 2029. The project benefits from the island’s existing connectivity, including direct links to Abu Dhabi city centre and major highways. Industry figures from CBRE indicate that waterfront residential developments in the emirate have commanded premium prices, often 15 to 20 per cent above comparable inland properties. The company has maintained a strong pipeline of launches across the UAE, supporting its position as one of the region’s leading developers.

Further details released by Aldar outline that The Canopies incorporates sustainable design features and extensive green spaces to enhance resident wellbeing. Yas Island, home to major attractions such as Ferrari World and Warner Bros World, continues to attract families and investors alike. The developer noted that buyer profiles at the launch included end-users and investors from within the GCC and beyond. Separate statistics published by the Central Bank of the UAE point to continued growth in mortgage lending for residential properties, which has facilitated higher transaction levels in master-planned communities.
