Hub71 announced the agreement with Key Capital a UAE-based specialist in secondary venture capital asset management on Monday. The memorandum positions Key Capital as a capital partner within the Hub71 ecosystem connecting participating startups to international investment opportunities tailored to their growth needs. The development extends a two-year collaboration during which Hub71 joined Key Capital’s annual Key Trek London roadshow. Fourteen Hub71 startups participated in the roadshows over that period securing more than 120 one-on-one meetings with investors from the United Kingdom and Europe.
This year’s edition featured nine Hub71 companies including Thndr FlapKap Orbii Abhi NymCard NodeShift BioSapien eVoost AI and Synapse Analytics according to the Hub71 statement. Founders continued engaging with investors they first met during the London events the announcement added. Key Capital will now work to broaden those connections by facilitating further access to global networks for startups that establish operations in Abu Dhabi.
Hub71’s 2025 Impact Report showed that companies in its ecosystem had raised more than $2.7 billion while generating $1.5 billion in revenue since the platform’s launch in 2019. The community expanded to 390 firms with 52 new startups welcomed in 2025 alone following a 62 percent increase in applications that year. Hub71 data indicated the platform received more than 5,000 applications during 2025 reflecting rising international interest in Abu Dhabi as a base for technology companies.
A record 2,453 applications from 112 countries were submitted for Hub71’s Cohort 18 the authority reported in June 2026. The cohort accepted 27 international startups at a 1.1 percent acceptance rate with selected companies having raised an average of $8.5 million for a combined total near $230 million. All chosen ventures are establishing operations in Abu Dhabi and will enter either the core Access Programme or one of the specialist tracks in digital assets climate technology or life sciences.
MAGNiTT figures cited in a Semafor report placed UAE and Saudi Arabian startups at nearly 90 percent of the $2.98 billion raised across the region in the first nine months of 2026. The UAE secured the largest share of that capital during the period the data showed. Such platforms as Hub71 have contributed to the emirate’s ability to draw both founders and investors amid this sustained activity.
The partnership will focus on matching high-potential startups with appropriate global investors the Hub71 statement noted. Officials expect the expanded relationship to accelerate commercial opportunities and fundraising for companies anchored in Abu Dhabi. Key Capital’s expertise in secondary venture capital markets will support those efforts by opening additional channels for liquidity and growth capital.
