The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media will maintain a dedicated stand at Arabian Travel Market 2026 to present the emirate’s cultural heritage sites, natural reserves and hospitality venues to global attendees. According to the WAM report, the participation supports the department’s efforts to diversify visitor source markets and strengthen ties with international tour operators. The event is expected to draw more than 40,000 travel professionals from around the world over four days. Organisers have positioned this edition under the theme of driving new frontiers through innovation and technology.

Figures released by the Ajman Department of Tourism show that the emirate recorded 174,986 hotel guests and 456,943 guest nights during the third quarter of 2025. Arabian Business reported in June that international visitors now account for 52 percent of total arrivals to Ajman, marking a significant rise from previous years. The same assessment found that visitor numbers increased by 1 percent in the first quarter of 2025 while average length of stay rose by 11 percent. Europe has emerged as the leading source market for these overseas arrivals.

Gulf Cooperation Council states welcomed more than 75 million tourists throughout 2025, representing a 4.8 percent increase from the prior year, according to Asharq Al-Awsat. The publication added that tourism spending across the bloc surpassed 131 billion dollars while the sector contributed 11.4 percent to combined GDP. Ajman’s engagement at major trade events forms one element of the broader regional drive to expand inbound travel. Dubai alone attracted 19.6 million international visitors in 2025, Gulf News data shows.

Arabian Travel Market organisers revised the 2026 dates to September following consultations with industry stakeholders, a move that aligns with heightened demand for stronger participation, according to RX Global statements carried by multiple outlets. The gathering will include more than 80 conference sessions addressing sustainability, artificial intelligence applications in travel and destination resilience. Ajman representatives plan to use the platform to highlight recent infrastructure improvements and eco-tourism initiatives within the emirate.

The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media has conducted multiple international roadshows in recent months to complement its trade fair presence. Zawya reported that a promotional tour across Prague, Katowice, Bucharest and Budapest took place from August 30 to September 4 to engage Central and Eastern European partners. A separate three-city roadshow in India during the same period led to the launch of a performance-based incentive programme for travel agents running from September 15 to December 1. The department also appointed a representative office in China earlier in 2026 to target that key outbound market.

Public transport usage in Ajman reached more than 14.2 million trips in 2025, a 7.23 percent rise from the previous year, the Ajman Transport Authority announced in January. This growth in mobility options supports the tourism sector by improving access to key sites across the emirate. Officials continue to align transport expansions with rising visitor demand and urban development plans. Such infrastructure enhancements are expected to feature in discussions with potential partners at the upcoming travel market.
