The delegation from the UAE’s Future Leaders Empowerment Programme wrapped up a series of hands-on activities in the Egyptian city of Al Arish, where participants engaged directly with the logistics of delivering aid as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. According to the Emirates News Agency, the students visited multiple departments at the UAE Floating Hospital, learned about medical services provided to patients from Gaza and took part in community initiatives including opening a library and honouring winners of a Quran memorisation competition. They also distributed gifts and meals to patients, gaining practical insight into the operation’s medical and relief efforts.

WAM reported that the field programme aimed to build the participants’ experience in humanitarian work while fostering values of social responsibility, volunteering and giving. The students contributed to preparing the first relief convoy from the Ahmed bin Zayed Foundation, packing food and health parcels at the logistics centre in Al Arish. This involvement provided them with an overview of the stages involved in organising and dispatching humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has delivered more than 126,300 tonnes of relief supplies to Gaza through over 13,000 aid trucks, 785 relief flights and 25 aid ships, a Khaleej Times report indicated. The initiative has provided assistance valued at more than $3.89 billion since its launch, accounting for a significant portion of international aid to the enclave. Medical facilities established under the operation, including the field hospital in Gaza and the floating hospital in Al Arish, have treated over 230,000 patients, according to official updates on the programme.

The delegation’s participation included assisting at the UAE humanitarian aid logistics centre, where teams receive, sort and prepare supplies before they cross into Gaza. Participants received briefings on the mechanisms for ensuring aid reaches those in need despite logistical challenges. This practical engagement aligns with the programme’s goal of preparing future generations to contribute to the UAE’s humanitarian initiatives.

A separate WAM dispatch noted that the students interacted with medical and administrative teams at the floating hospital to understand the comprehensive care provided, including surgeries, physiotherapy and dialysis. The opening of the new library offered patients a space for reading and recovery, while the distribution of gifts brought additional comfort to those receiving treatment. Such activities helped instill a culture of volunteerism among the young Emiratis.

Throughout the programme, the delegation observed the role of various UAE charitable organisations collaborating under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 to maintain a steady flow of support. The operation continues to address urgent needs for food, shelter and medical care among Palestinian families. By the conclusion of their visit, participants had developed a deeper appreciation for the scale and impact of the UAE’s ongoing relief efforts.
