According to the Emirates News Agency the UAE Ambassador presents credential to King of Jordan during a reception at the Royal Palace in Amman where the envoy conveyed greetings from UAE leaders and pledged to advance mutual cooperation. King Abdullah II relayed his own best wishes to the UAE president and expressed confidence in the ambassador’s ability to further solidify existing partnerships across political and developmental domains. Senior Jordanian officials attended the event which marks the diplomat’s official assumption of duties in the kingdom.

Jordan Chamber of Industry data shows industrial exports to the UAE increased 29 percent in the first half of 2026 to reach 233 million dirhams contributing to an 8.9 percent rise in the kingdom’s total industrial exports that hit 4.4 billion dinars over the same period. The expansion encompassed several key markets beyond the UAE including higher shipments to China and European destinations. Chemical products cosmetics and construction materials drove much of the sectoral advance while apparel maintained its position among leading export categories.

Central Bank of Jordan figures place remittances from the UAE at 462 million dollars during January to May 2026 representing 22 percent of overall inflows and confirming the Emirates as the primary source ahead of other countries. This 15 percent annual increase in transfers from the UAE supports a range of household and economic activities in Jordan where Gulf-based workers play a longstanding role. The bank also tracked a parallel 15 percent rise in outbound remittances from Jordan with Egypt receiving the largest share.

A Department of Statistics assessment found that Jordan recorded trade surpluses with multiple Arab partners in the first half of 2026 even as its exchanges within the broader GAFTA group reflected a deficit amid rising imports from several Gulf states including the UAE. National exports to GAFTA countries grew 4.4 percent to nearly 2 billion dinars during those months while the bloc absorbed more than 40 percent of Jordan’s total national exports. Such patterns highlight the enduring commercial framework that underpins ties with the UAE and other neighbors.

The accreditation aligns with a series of high-level exchanges that have included written messages between the UAE president and the Jordanian king focused on enhancing collaboration in response to regional developments. Al Shamsi who transitioned from prior security and foreign policy roles within the UAE government assumes the position at a time when both sides are prioritizing investment and stability initiatives. Jordanian authorities have repeatedly described the UAE as a vital partner in their economic diversification strategy.

Recent years have seen the two countries expand joint projects in infrastructure tourism and humanitarian support building on diplomatic relations established decades ago. The new ambassador’s presentation of credentials is expected to facilitate additional coordination in these areas as well as in addressing shared regional priorities. Officials from both sides have emphasized the importance of such diplomatic steps in sustaining momentum across all fields of engagement.
