The United Arab Emirates dispatched five aid convoys loaded with 800 tonnes of relief materials that crossed into Gaza on Thursday, the Emirates News Agency reported. The shipments formed part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, an ongoing initiative that has delivered thousands of tonnes of assistance since its launch. The convoys carried food, medical equipment and other essential items coordinated through Emirati relief agencies working with international partners on the ground.
Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 represents a continuation of the UAE’s broader humanitarian campaign in the Palestinian territories that began in late 2023. Earlier phases of the operation moved more than 30,000 tonnes of supplies across multiple routes, according to cumulative figures released by the UAE government. The latest delivery adds to a sustained effort that has included air drops, sea shipments and overland convoys aimed at addressing acute shortages inside Gaza.
UAE officials have repeatedly stated that the operation focuses on urgent civilian needs while maintaining close coordination with Egyptian authorities and United Nations agencies responsible for distribution. The convoys entered through the Rafah crossing after completing standard inspection procedures, the news agency said. Relief workers inside Gaza are expected to begin immediate distribution of the fresh supplies to hospitals, shelters and displaced families.
The UAE has positioned itself as one of the largest donors of humanitarian aid to Gaza since the escalation of conflict in October 2023. Government data compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs place total Emirati assistance at more than 250,000 tonnes when combining all delivery methods used to date. Thursday’s overland delivery forms one component of a multi-modal strategy that also features regular airdrops conducted in partnership with Jordan and other allies.
Emirati medical teams operating field hospitals inside Gaza will receive portions of the new medical cargo to replenish depleted stocks. The operation has supported the establishment and running of several temporary treatment facilities that have handled thousands of patients since opening. Coordination with local health authorities ensures that supplies reach the areas facing the most severe shortages, according to statements from participating agencies.
Additional convoys are scheduled to follow in the coming days as part of the same operation, the Emirates News Agency indicated. The UAE has maintained that its aid efforts remain strictly humanitarian and are guided by international law and established relief protocols. Monitoring mechanisms track the delivery and distribution of each shipment to verify that assistance reaches intended civilian recipients.
