The UAE President dispatched a cable of congratulations to his Kyrgyz counterpart while the Vice President and Prime Minister of Dubai and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs sent parallel messages according to the Emirates News Agency. The communications expressed wishes for further progress and prosperity for the people of Kyrgyzstan and emphasised the depth of bilateral relations. Such diplomatic exchanges occur annually as part of the established protocol between the two nations that have maintained ties since 1992.

United Nations COMTRADE database figures show the United Arab Emirates exported goods worth $1.98 billion to Kyrgyzstan in 2024 with electrical and electronic equipment forming the largest category at $911.77 million. Kyrgyzstan exported $114.9 million worth of goods to the UAE in 2025 led by electrical equipment valued at $92.18 million according to the same database. These flows have contributed to a trade relationship in which the UAE has emerged as the Central Asian state’s primary partner among Gulf countries.

Gulf News reported that Kyrgyzstan and the UAE are finalising a bilateral agreement on trade in services and investment aimed at broadening business opportunities for enterprises in both countries. The two sides signed a framework agreement with Masdar during the World Governments Summit in Dubai to develop a 200 MW solar power plant as the initial phase of a 1 GW renewable energy project. Officials have also discussed expanding the Abu Dhabi Kyrgyz Investment company and organising an investment forum in the format of the Cooperation Council of Arab States of the Persian Gulf and Central Asia.

Kyrgyzstan observes Independence Day each year on August 31 to commemorate the Supreme Soviet’s adoption of the Declaration on State Independence in 1991 according to Britannica. The annual holiday includes parades concerts and fireworks in Ala-Too Square in Bishkek drawing thousands of participants and senior officials. The occasion represents the culmination of a process that began with the republic’s declaration of sovereignty in 1990 and its formal exit from the Soviet Union.

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev highlighted the strengthened partnership during talks with UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the World Government Summit in Dubai according to Akchabar.kg. Kasymaliev stated “Our relations have strengthened significantly in recent years. Today the UAE is Kyrgyzstan’s largest partner among the Gulf countries. In January-November 2024 the trade turnover between our countries amounted to $155 million of which $99 million accounted for Kyrgyzstan’s exports and $56 million for imports. I am sure that this figure can be significantly increased.” The discussions also addressed preparation for the third meeting of the Kyrgyz-Emirati Intergovernmental Commission.

A report published by 24.kg noted that the UAE has granted Kyrgyzstan tariff preferences on 444 export commodity sub-items covering 99 percent of current Kyrgyz exports to the UAE market. Bilateral trade turnover rose more than tenfold from 2020 to 2024 before reaching $179.5 million in 2025 with Kyrgyz exports increasing by 6.1 percent to $124 million that year. The preferential access forms part of ongoing efforts to diversify economic cooperation beyond traditional sectors into areas such as energy infrastructure and agriculture.
