The Omnipod 5 eliminates visible tubing that has traditionally accompanied insulin pumps, offering greater discretion and comfort for children. Emirates Health Services noted that its AI-driven automation reduces the constant manual oversight previously required from families and clinicians. The introduction follows the same hospital’s 2021 installation of the MiniMed 780G system, which the Ministry of Health and Prevention reported as the first such deployment in the UAE at the time.

A Connect1d study found that young children on automated insulin delivery systems spent 68 percent of time in healthy blood sugar ranges compared with 58 percent on manual therapy.
