Emirates NBD said in a statement that it has formed a strategic partnership with the Dubai Future District Fund to drive innovation across financial technology and artificial intelligence. The agreement will give the bank access to a curated selection of enterprise-grade solutions developed by the fund’s portfolio companies. It will also open avenues for structured pilot programs and potential commercial rollouts that match the lender’s core strategic goals. This initiative builds on the bank’s established innovation efforts and positions it to deliver more advanced services to its customer base.

The announcement described the Dubai Future District Fund as an AED 1 billion evergreen venture capital fund anchored by the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Dubai Future Foundation. The fund focuses on nurturing startups that shape the future of finance and related economic sectors. According to the statement, the UAE FinTech market is set to expand significantly, rising from USD 3.16 billion in 2024 to USD 5.71 billion by 2029. These projections underscore the growing importance of such collaborations in the regional financial landscape.

Key focus areas for the partnership include AI-driven banking, embedded finance, digital assets, SME solutions, WealthTech, compliance technologies and next-generation infrastructure. The collaboration aims to improve customer experiences through faster digital deployment, better fraud detection and more secure financial services. It will also support enhanced solutions for business clients and streamlined onboarding processes that reduce friction in daily banking activities.

Marwan Hadi, Group Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, said in the statement, “Emirates NBD is delighted to be part of this innovative partnership with another national entity focused on transforming Dubai into a nexus for business and an integrated environment for investment.” He added that the bank anticipates delivering more personalised and intelligent banking experiences, faster deployment of digital banking capabilities, improved fraud detection and financial security, enhanced SME and business banking solutions and seamless onboarding services. Hadi further noted that the association reinforces the bank’s long-term commitment to national talent development and advancing the UAE’s innovation agenda through the National Digital Talent Incubator.

Nader Albastaki, Managing Director at DFDF, said in the announcement, “We are excited to partner with Emirates NBD, a progressive leader in the financial sector.” He described the collaboration as a testament to their shared vision for a future where innovation drives progress and enhances the daily lives of individuals and businesses. Albastaki pointed out that the partnership would give high-potential startups opportunities to explore pilot programs, strategic partnerships and commercial deployments within Emirates NBD’s extensive ecosystem.

The bank operates its National Digital Talent Incubator to accelerate the growth of Emirati entrepreneurs focused on financial services, AI and digital commerce. This program provides structured mentorship, industry access and strategic guidance to participants. Emirates NBD recently hosted the NDTI Founders Summit 2026 to celebrate the next generation of local fintech and digital talent. As of June 30, 2026, the group reported total assets of AED 1.3 trillion.

Emirates NBD maintains operations in 13 countries and serves more than 25 million active customers through its network. The lender runs 1,425 branches and 4,948 ATMs or self-service machines across its footprint. It has achieved a leading position in digital banking, with 97 percent of transactions completed outside of branches, while its Liv digital bank has attracted around half a million users and ranks as one of the region’s fastest-growing platforms.
