The Emirates News Agency reported that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a congratulatory cable to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, dispatched a similar message to El-Sisi. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also conveyed congratulations to the Egyptian leader on the occasion.

According to the agency, the same UAE officials addressed parallel messages to Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. The communications highlighted the deep fraternal bonds between the two countries and peoples. WAM noted that the messages wished Egypt continued progress and prosperity under El-Sisi’s leadership.

Historical accounts place the July 23 Revolution as the 1952 military coup that ended the monarchy in Egypt and ushered in a republic. The Free Officers Movement, led by figures including Gamal Abdel Nasser, carried out the action against King Farouk, according to Britannica. The event is commemorated annually across Egypt as a foundational moment in the nation’s modern history.

The revolution ultimately led to the end of British influence in Egypt and the declaration of a republic the following year. Nasser emerged as a central figure in the post-revolutionary order, shaping regional politics for decades afterward. Egyptian authorities continue to mark the anniversary with official ceremonies and public events each July 23.

A TV BRICS report placed bilateral trade between Egypt and the UAE at $9.7 billion in 2025, marking a 61.7 percent increase from the prior year. The UAE Ministry of Economy assessment identified the UAE as the top Arab investor in Egypt and the third largest globally. Officials from both sides have cited projects such as the $35 billion Ras El Hekma development deal as a milestone in economic cooperation.

The UAE and Egypt have expanded collaboration across infrastructure, transportation and new economy sectors in recent years, the ministry’s statements show. Joint initiatives align with broader visions for diversification and regional integration. Data from the partners indicate sustained momentum in investment flows and trade volumes despite global economic pressures.
