Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development figures show that the authority completed 25,622 electronic transactions in the first half of 2026, all of them through digital channels for a 100 percent completion rate, while customer satisfaction reached 96 percent. During the same period the department issued 2,465 commercial permits, reflecting increased uptake of its online platforms by businesses and investors seeking to operate in the emirate. The performance was detailed in a statement issued on July 20.

The department provides more than 47 electronic services that cover business licensing, commercial permits and regulatory requirements, enabling all transactions to be handled remotely on a 24/7 basis, it said. Aisha Obaid Al Ayyan, acting director of the commercial affairs department, said that the department provides more than 47 electronic services that enable customers to complete their transactions easily, quickly, and from anywhere, thereby enhancing the quality of government services and elevating the overall customer experience. She said the 100 percent digital completion rate reflected the success of the department’s digital transformation strategy and the efficiency of its smart systems, while the 96 percent customer satisfaction rate underscored the quality of its services.

Al Ayyan added that issuing 2,465 commercial permits during the first six months of the year reflected the continued dynamism of the emirate’s business community and the role of digital services in streamlining procedures and accelerating permit issuance. Ras Al Khaimah is home to more than 50,000 businesses from over 100 countries spanning more than 50 economic fields, according to the emirate’s official factsheet, which positions digital efficiency as a key enabler for this diverse corporate base. The authority’s results align with national trends in which digital government services have produced measurable gains.

A report on the National Digital Transformation Program from u.ae placed direct government savings at AED 20 billion alongside 530 million working hours saved for entities through automation and smart service delivery. The UAE Digital Economy Strategy seeks to lift the digital sector’s contribution to non-oil GDP from 12 percent currently to 20 percent by 2030, according to a U.S. Trade and Development Agency assessment. In a further step forward, authorities announced in April 2026 that 50 percent of federal services would transition to Agentic AI within two years.

Earlier figures from the department showed 27,788 electronic transactions processed for the whole of 2025, a 6.8 percent increase on the 26,028 recorded in 2024, prior WAM reporting indicated. This consistent upward trajectory demonstrates the embedding of digital tools within the emirate’s economic governance framework. The focus remains on expanding service availability to match demand from the growing business community.
