Sheikh Ahmed and the executive examined ways the collaboration could reinforce Dubai’s role as an international hub for innovation and creative production.
The Media Office reported that discussions highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation between the UAE and international technology-driven media enterprises. Sunghae presented the company’s approach to integrating cutting-edge tools for enhanced creative output during the session.
This engagement aligns with Dubai’s long-term creative economy objectives. The Dubai Creative Economy Strategy aims to double the creative industries’ contribution to the emirate’s GDP from 2.6 per cent in 2020 to 5 per cent by 2025, according to planning documents from the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. The same framework targets growing the number of creative companies based in Dubai from 8,300 to 15,000 and increasing the creator population from 70,000 to 140,000 over the period.
Dubai’s first creative impact report placed the sector’s contribution at AED 21.9 billion to GDP in 2022 while sustaining more than 175,000 jobs across core and supporting activities. Design, audiovisual media and digital content recorded the strongest growth rates within the ecosystem, the report found. It additionally noted that Dubai secured first place globally in foreign direct investment projects directed at creative industries for both 2022 and 2023.
The meeting forms part of the UAE’s wider drive to embed artificial intelligence across key economic domains including media and content production. National AI initiatives have emphasised building local expertise through strategic international partnerships. Such collaborations are expected to accelerate capability development in line with the emirate’s established innovation agenda.
