The Italian Trade Agency is coordinating the national pavilion that will present 45 companies specialising in sustainable water, energy and environmental solutions at WETEX 2026, the Emirates News Agency reported this month. Organisers selected participants to align with the exhibition’s focus on renewable energy, water management and green technologies, areas where Italian industry holds established capabilities. The pavilion forms part of broader international participation expected to exceed previous records at the Dubai World Trade Centre venue.
WETEX 2025 drew more than 50,000 visitors and 3,100 exhibiting brands from 65 countries across 95,000 square metres, according to a DEWA post-show report. That edition featured 18 international pavilions and hosted 7,862 B2B and B2G meetings along with 135 specialised sessions. DEWA organises the annual exhibition under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
Italian companies participated in the 2025 edition with stands dedicated to water treatment systems, pumps and renewable energy components, an Italian Trade Agency catalogue from the prior year indicated. The increase to 45 participants for 2026 reflects growing interest in the Middle East market for sustainable technologies, where demand continues to rise in line with regional development goals. The agency has organised similar pavilions at WETEX for several years to facilitate partnerships between Italian firms and regional buyers.
The exhibition serves as the region’s largest platform for water, energy, sustainability and green technologies, DEWA data shows. Previous gatherings have emphasised innovation in clean energy, decarbonisation and smart solutions that address both environmental and economic priorities across the GCC. Organisers anticipate the 2026 edition will generate further opportunities through dedicated conference sessions and networking zones.
A WAM dispatch highlighted that the Italian presence will allow companies to demonstrate advanced solutions tailored to challenges in water scarcity and energy transition. The companies span established manufacturers and specialised providers with expertise in areas such as desalination, waste management and efficient energy systems. Participation in the pavilion includes access to targeted B2B engagements arranged by the Italian Trade Agency and local partners.
