The 2026 Russia National Arabian Horse Championship concluded in the Dmitrovsky District of Moscow following competition among purebred entries. WAM reported that Russia’s National Arabian Horse Championship concludes in cooperation with Emirates Arabian Horse Society as part of bilateral work to preserve the breed and expand its global role. The program included around 30 horses from 18 owners and studs at a dedicated equestrian site. Organisers noted strong participation from breeders during the multi-day schedule.
Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, attended alongside Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director-General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society. The officials joined in crowning winners after all classes were judged. Their presence formed part of the formal closing that recognised top performers across categories.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi said this reflected the strength of the partnership between the two sides and reinforced their joint efforts to serve purebred Arabian horses, expand their international reach and enhance their standing regionally and globally. He noted that this year’s championship witnessed the first implementation of the Rabdan judging system in the Russian Federation, representing a significant step in bringing Emirati expertise to the international arena. The director-general highlighted the system’s role in the event’s technical execution. This marked the initial deployment of the UAE-developed tool in Russian competitions.
The Emirates Arabian Horse Society provided prize money for qualifying rounds and trophies for overall champions. It has extended comparable assistance to events in other countries to advance breed quality and owner networks. Such contributions align with the society’s documented programs for international cooperation according to its operational records.
World Arabian Horse Organization figures show that Russia maintains 85 stallions and 435 mares in purebred Arabian breeding with annual foal registrations between 280 and 291. The national stud book incorporates both printed volumes and digital files distributed to registrars. An associated electronic database contains entries for more than 11,500 horses of the breed. These metrics derive from reports submitted to the organisation’s conferences.
Maxima Park functioned as the host facility and regularly accommodates national and international horse events. The site supplied infrastructure suitable for Arabian horse evaluation and presentation. Technical teams from the Emirates Arabian Horse Society supported judging and related operations throughout the championship.
