The Artificial Intelligence Office collaborates with Dell Technologies to build national capabilities in Agentic AI, as part of a broader five-day visit to the United States by more than 50 chief AI officers and government leaders from federal and local entities. WAM reported that the trip, organised jointly with the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, provides first-hand exposure to global developments in the technology along with advanced models and practices at leading firms and academic institutions. The engagements aim to forge partnerships that can speed up integration into government operations while addressing opportunities and challenges of large-scale deployment.
The visit directly supports the UAE’s national target of transforming 50 percent of government sectors, operations and services into Agentic AI-powered models within two years, according to the UAE Cabinet. The Cabinet approved the framework earlier in 2026 under directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Plans include training 80,000 federal employees in Agentic AI tools, with outcomes tied to performance reviews, promotions and appointments.
Dell Technologies has expanded its agentic AI portfolio through the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, a company announcement from May 2026 stated. The offerings include a deskside solution that enables local, secure deployment of autonomous agents on workstations, reducing reliance on cloud services while maintaining data sovereignty and cost predictability. UAE officials will meet with Dell alongside NVIDIA, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce and other technology providers during the mission to identify collaboration areas that align with national priorities.
This marks the second international mission for the cohort of chief AI officers, the Artificial Intelligence Office noted ahead of departure. A preparatory workshop helped align participants on key focus areas, including development approaches, scaling methods and responsible governance of the technology. Outcomes from the trip are expected to inform practical applications across UAE government entities and contribute to the five implementation tracks covering operations, services, technology infrastructure, data systems and capacity building.
The UAE first launched its national Artificial Intelligence Strategy in 2017, becoming the first country to appoint a Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, government records show. The current Agentic AI project is positioned as the world’s inaugural comprehensive government-wide effort to embed autonomous systems that can monitor conditions, execute decisions and self-improve without constant human input. It builds on existing tools such as the AI-powered Proactive Government Performance System that processes millions of data points monthly.
Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi chairs the executive committee overseeing the transformation, according to official statements. The initiative encompasses service bundles for citizens, residents, businesses and investors in its initial phase while emphasising coordination among federal entities to prepare supporting data and infrastructure. Insights from engagements with global partners like Dell Technologies will help refine these efforts to meet the two-year timeline.
