SEHA, a subsidiary of PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, announced that its flagship conference opened Thursday at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers and will run through October 25. The event operates under the theme “Transforming Family Health Beyond Borders Through Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Excellence” and will bring together practitioners alongside decision-makers to review how these professions can adapt to shifting patient and community requirements. Organisers noted that the programme will emphasise how clinical expertise, research and leadership can combine to deliver more cohesive healthcare experiences for patients and their families.

Muayyad Mohammad Hussein, Chief Nursing Officer at SEHA and President of SINMAC 2026, said in the statement, “Our colleagues are often the people families turn to with questions, concerns, or uncertainty. Supporting their professional growth means recognising the judgement they bring to care and giving them opportunities to influence how services develop. We want this conference to make space for their experience and ideas alongside the wider decisions shaping healthcare.” Hussein added that the gathering will consider care from the viewpoint of those receiving it rather than through isolated professional lenses. The three-day schedule includes sessions that examine coordination across services as patients and families navigate different points of care.

SEHA figures from the 2025 edition of the conference show that prior events have drawn roughly 2,500 nursing and allied health professionals along with 150 speakers from the UAE, GCC states, the United States and Europe. Those meetings approved 250 research papers for presentation, many of which addressed innovations such as artificial intelligence applications in wound care and nurse training for robotic surgery programmes. This year’s assembly is projected to attract more than 2,000 participants while maintaining the same focus on translating research and best practices into improved patient outcomes.

The conference builds on a decade-long platform that SEHA has used to advance multidisciplinary dialogue in the region. Previous iterations have also featured studies on the integration of expatriate nurses into the UAE system and assessments of nurse wellbeing in neighbouring countries, according to records from earlier SEHA gatherings. Such topics underscore the cross-border nature of healthcare staffing and knowledge exchange that the current theme seeks to address directly.

Hussein told organisers that supporting professional development for nurses, midwives and allied health staff remains central to shaping future service models. The event will allocate space for participant ideas to sit alongside strategic discussions that influence policy and delivery. SEHA stated that the gathering ultimately aims to reinforce the contribution these roles make to both individual family health and broader community resilience.

PureHealth has positioned the conference as part of its wider commitment to elevating standards across Abu Dhabi’s healthcare network, where SEHA operates multiple facilities. Data from past conferences indicate consistent growth in both attendance and research output, reflecting rising interest in evidence-based advancements. The current edition will conclude on October 25 after additional workshops and presentations that extend the core theme.
