According to figures from the International Air Transport Association air passenger traffic in the Middle East to Asia routes grew by 18 percent in 2025 compared with the previous year. flydubai has steadily expanded its Asian network which now includes multiple Thai destinations alongside Bangkok. The airline’s decision aligns with broader trends of Gulf carriers increasing frequencies to popular leisure markets in response to visa facilitation and tourism promotion efforts by Thai authorities. The second daily service is expected to add several thousand seats per week to the route.
Thailand’s Tourism Authority reported a 22 percent year-on-year increase in visitors from the UAE and wider GCC bloc in the first half of 2026 with total arrivals surpassing 650000. This growth has been supported by direct air links and marketing campaigns targeting Gulf travelers. flydubai’s enhanced schedule will allow same-day connections through its Dubai hub to destinations across Europe Africa and the Middle East. The carrier has not disclosed specific start dates for the winter schedule adjustment beyond the October target.
