Dubai Municipality has introduced a new 102-metre bridge at Mushrif National Park to facilitate safer outdoor recreation. The bridge includes two dedicated lanes, separating mountain bikers from hikers to prevent conflicts with vehicle traffic. This allows for a continuous trail experience that previously required stops at road crossings. The development reflects the municipality’s commitment to upgrading facilities at the popular destination, which serves as a major hub for nature-based activities in the city, according to the Dubai Media Office.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, detailed the project’s advantages. “The new bridge represents a significant addition to Mushrif National Park and transforms the mountain biking experience by creating a continuous connection between two sections of the trail. Mountain bikers can now continue their journey without having to stop and cross a road used by vehicles, providing a safer, smoother and more enjoyable experience through one of Dubai’s most distinctive natural environments,” Anwahi said. He added, “Our approach to developing Mushrif National Park goes beyond adding individual facilities. We are creating an integrated outdoor destination where adventure, nature and active lifestyles come together. This bridge strengthens that experience and adds a new landmark to Dubai’s largest forest, giving residents and visitors another reason to explore and engage with the park.”

The new bridge adds to infrastructure established during the 2025 launch of Mushrif Hub at the park. Dubai Municipality reported that the hub includes a 50-kilometre mountain bike track segmented into beginner, intermediate and professional routes along with a 9.7-kilometre mountain walking trail. These features have already attracted many residents seeking active pursuits in a forested setting. The bridge ensures better flow between these trails for an improved visitor experience.

The opening event was attended by His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality. His presence highlighted the strategic importance of such projects in advancing the emirate’s recreational offerings. The director general oversaw the inauguration as part of broader park enhancement initiatives, Gulf News reported.

Mushrif National Park stands as Dubai’s largest forest and a key site for environmental and leisure activities. Since the 2025 launch of the Mushrif Hub, the municipality has added lighting elements to extend operating hours, increasing the park’s capacity to host community events and individual outings. These cumulative improvements aim to position the location as a comprehensive outdoor venue, according to Dubai Municipality.
