The BRIDGE Alliance said in a statement that its board of directors approved the development strategy during a virtual fourth meeting chaired by H.E. Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed. The alliance confirmed the period between late November and early December 2027 as the date for the second edition of the BRIDGE Summit after adjusting from an earlier plan for November 2026. The board also decided that the summit will become an annual event from its second edition onward to strengthen its role as a sustainable global ecosystem with year-round activities. The platform brings together leaders from media, content, entertainment and technology along with investors and innovators to drive knowledge exchange and convert ideas into scalable partnerships and projects.
Al Hamed highlighted how the new timeline offers greater scope to advance the summit’s development, reinforce specialised programmes, expand international partnerships and maintain the highest standards of excellence. The inaugural edition in December 2025 at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi established a strong foundation through broad international participation and an extensive network of partners according to the alliance. Yas Island was chosen for the second edition because of its integrated entertainment and events ecosystem together with advanced infrastructure that will support a five-day format to allow more specialised programming, meetings and collaboration opportunities.
The BRIDGE Alliance charts development roadmap for BRIDGE Summit, with second edition set for late 2027 as part of a series of strategic tracks intended to create a sustainable international community of media leaders, policymakers, innovators and content creators. The alliance reported that the roadmap includes transforming the summit into an active year-round global platform through research studies, strategic dialogues and roundtable discussions to bolster its international presence. Partnerships will expand with governments, international organisations, universities, technology companies and leading media groups to integrate diverse expertise into content design and specialised tracks while fostering convergence across media, entertainment, technology and investment sectors.
Al Hamed stated that the UAE has established a development model in which excellence and innovation are embedded in the culture of work and long-term planning serves as a pathway to excellence. “Through the remarkable figures and indicators it achieved, the inaugural edition of BRIDGE demonstrated its ability to serve as a global platform bringing together decision-makers, leaders across media and content, investors and creators from around the world, and transforming this diversity into an integrated ecosystem for dialogue, collaboration and opportunity creation,” he said. The chairman added that the first summit contributed to establishing strategic partnerships, significant agreements and new avenues for investment and cross-border collaboration while demonstrating its potential as an influential global reference in shaping the future of media and creative industries.
BRIDGE Summit 2025 welcomed more than 40,000 participants from 182 countries and achieved a media reach of 834 million people the alliance reported. The event hosted 1,276 business meetings and saw 48 agreements and deals signed alongside specialised discussions on the transformations reshaping content and creative industries. These results from the 2025 gathering informed the current roadmap that emphasises intensive work across programming, international partnerships and specialised tracks to deliver an experience aligned with the summit’s founding ambitions.
The alliance described the period ahead as an investment focused on building lasting value whose outcomes translate into opportunities, partnerships and initiatives with impact across markets and sectors. Al Hamed noted that the UAE’s forward-looking vision, advanced infrastructure and innovation-friendly environment will continue to make it a meeting point for global minds, ideas and investment. From this base the BRIDGE Alliance plans to develop an international event that addresses major transformations in media, content and entertainment while reinforcing the UAE’s role in global industry collaboration.
