The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department announced the introduction of a unified service for cancelling all types of digital contracts via the Tasdeeq system on its website. The platform completes cancellations automatically and immediately once both contracting parties grant approval, according to the department. No supporting documents are required under the new process, nor must users await manual review or endorsement by employees. This marks a complete shift from earlier requirements that often involved multiple steps and verifications.

The department’s announcement emphasised that the service delivers 100% bureaucracy elimination and operates continuously without time or location restrictions. Customers can therefore initiate cancellations at any hour from any place with an internet connection. The development forms part of a sustained push to advance digital offerings and raise overall service standards across Ajman. Municipal service directories had previously listed separate procedures for residential, investment, commercial and warehouse contracts that typically demanded signed cancellation letters and clearances from the Ajman Sewerage Company.

According to the department, the new feature simplifies the customer journey while reinforcing its strategic focus on advanced digital tools. Earlier municipal reports show that more than 40 smart services were fully migrated to the unified Ajman One application by the end of 2025 as part of efforts to consolidate government channels. The former dedicated smart app, launched in 2014, had attracted over 230,000 users and processed more than three million transactions in 27 languages before the transition, municipal data indicated.

A related electronic warehouse contract renewal service unveiled during the 2025 GITEX exhibition integrated with the Department of Economic Development and the Ajman Sewerage Company to cut processing time to a single working day. That earlier platform performed automatic activity checks on commercial licences and converted requests directly into inspection systems. The latest cancellation service builds on the same interconnected digital architecture to cover every contract category without exception.

The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has maintained a leading role in UAE government digital transformation, having been the first to introduce digital identity, digital stamping and digital signature capabilities along with a smart clock application. These innovations contributed to more than 20 local and international awards for excellence in smart services and two consecutive five-star ratings under a global classification system. Officials continue to expand such tools in line with Vision Ajman 2030 to create a competitive business climate and improve residents’ administrative experiences.

Users seeking to cancel contracts can now access the service directly through the department’s online portal without prior appointments or physical submissions. The fully automated workflow ensures that once mutual consent is registered the cancellation takes effect at once. This latest capability further reduces friction points that once characterised lease and commercial agreement terminations throughout the emirate.
