Dubai Police detailed a series of artificial intelligence applications that could redefine operational capabilities over the coming decade and a half, according to a statement distributed by the Emirates News Agency. The presentation occurred at the World Police Summit, where experts examined how AI, integrated security systems and real-time intelligence sharing can address evolving threats ranging from cyberattacks to cross-border crime. Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri reviewed the force’s AI transformation initiatives during related inspections, Dubai Police reported.
The force has already deployed 36 robots across policing and administrative tasks while completing 104 technology projects over the past year, according to Dubai Police updates. Horizon X, an initiative launched by the force in August 2026, focuses on anticipating future security trends and converting them into practical projects aligned with five pillars that include data, technology and institutional agility. The Future Foresight Centre serves as a strategic partner in these efforts, a Dubai Police statement noted.
International participants at the summit stressed that artificial intelligence can process large volumes of information to identify patterns and support analysis, Khaleej Times reported from the event. Col. Dr. Rashid Hamdan Al Ghafri, deputy director general of Dubai Police’s General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, participated in discussions on closing surveillance gaps through real-time threat detection. Dr. Adel Alsharji of Presight added that agencies must invest in skills and infrastructure alongside technology while preserving human oversight.
Dubai Police’s direction aligns with broader UAE deployment of fourth industrial revolution technologies, the Dubai Future Foundation documented in a report that identified 100 use cases across sectors including smart cities and public safety. One such application involves a driverless patrol vehicle developed locally and placed into service at Global Village. The foundation’s assessment highlighted how government direction, corporate expertise and research institutions combine to enable these advancements.
Operations Strategy 2033 sets four priorities for Dubai Police that include enhanced emergency response times and expanded AI-powered functions, Emirates 24|7 reported following an annual inspection by Al Marri. The review covered performance metrics, development projects and emerging technologies across the General Department of Operations. Officials described the strategy as building operational resilience through smart systems and sustainable communication channels.
Traffic Vision 2040, endorsed by Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, integrates artificial intelligence to identify risks proactively and prepare for urban master plan targets, Gulf News stated. The vision tracks emerging trends to set priorities and develop responsive projects, according to the General Department of Traffic. It supports wider goals of security, safety and innovation across the emirate.
Global analyses indicate that AI is driving changes in criminal methods, including a 180 percent rise in multi-step fraud attacks recorded in 2025, a Sumsub Identity Fraud Report cited by the World Economic Forum found. Dubai Police partnerships with entities such as Microsoft and Interpol for its 2025-2030 mobility strategy incorporate predictive tools to counter such developments, Gulf News reported. The combined initiatives position the force to address both current and anticipated security demands through structured technology adoption.
