TRENDS Research & Advisory concluded its participation in the International Security Expo London 2026, the Emirates News Agency reported on October 4. The Abu Dhabi-based independent research organisation, which rebranded as TRENDS Group earlier this year, engaged with security professionals and presented its studies on geopolitical issues during the two-day gathering. According to the expo’s organisers, the event at Olympia in London drew more than 10,000 professionals responsible for security and resilience of businesses and critical infrastructure. TRENDS Research & Advisory used the platform to discuss emerging threats and contribute its perspectives on international security dynamics.
The event featured more than 300 exhibitors from over 100 countries showcasing innovations in physical and cyber security, expo organisers stated. A speech by UK Security Minister Dan Jarvis at the gathering noted that the United Kingdom’s security and resilience sector generates £27.6 billion in annual turnover and supports almost 150,000 jobs. TRENDS Research & Advisory’s team participated in summits addressing counter-terrorism, border security and cybersecurity, aligning with the think tank’s focus on analysing global challenges. The participation reflects the organisation’s commitment to knowledge exchange at prominent international forums.
TRENDS Research & Advisory produced more than 1,260 research papers in 2025 that addressed rapid transformations across political, security, economic and technological domains, according to the organisation’s year-end review. The think tank expanded its international presence to 24 offices combined with 370 global partnerships, the review added. Such growth has enabled TRENDS Research & Advisory to disseminate findings through publications and events that reach both Arab and international audiences. The London expo served as an additional venue for advancing these objectives.
Founded in 2014, TRENDS Research & Advisory has earned recognition as one of the top ten emerging research institutions globally, the University of Pennsylvania assessment found. The organisation has also received awards including the Best Research Center Award for 2024 from the Arab Global Network, its website indicated. These accomplishments underscore the centre’s role in producing rigorous studies that inform policymaking and public understanding of complex issues. Participation in the International Security Expo reinforced these contributions through direct engagement with experts and practitioners.
The International Security Expo is backed by the UK Government and includes the Global Counter Terror & Security Summit along with the International Security & Resilience Conference, according to event materials. High-level speakers from government and industry provided insights that complemented the exhibition of advanced technologies such as counter-drone systems and data analytics tools. TRENDS Research & Advisory’s involvement allowed the delegation to exchange views on resilience strategies amid evolving global threats. The expo concluded on September 30 after facilitating numerous professional connections and knowledge-sharing sessions.
TRENDS Research & Advisory maintains a portfolio of over 5,000 reports and 22,000 knowledge contents that support its advisory work, the organisation’s review stated. This extensive output has positioned the centre to address shared human concerns across multiple dimensions. The London event marked another step in the think tank’s strategy of building partnerships that enhance research impact worldwide.
