The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with Talabat Mart to support local farmers and producers and to enhance the marketing of their products through the digital platform. The MoU was signed in Abu Dhabi on October 2 2026 by Nasser Mohamed Al Junaibi acting deputy director-general for operational affairs at ADAFSA and by Alix de Zélicourt general manager of Talabat Mart. WAM reported that the agreement seeks to develop a joint programme connecting local farmers and producers with consumers. The first phase prioritises producers in the Al Ain region.

Al Junaibi said the MoU reflects ADAFSA’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with the private sector to help local farmers and producers access modern markets while advancing agricultural development sustainability and food security. This forms part of the authority’s ongoing work in the sector. ADAFSA signed 37 new agreements during 2025 according to its own announcement.

Alix de Zélicourt said “Our collaboration with ADAFSA marks an important step in supporting local products and farmers and reflects our commitment through the (Talabat Grow) initiative to empowering local businesses across the region. Only producers meeting approved quality and food safety standards will gain access to the platform the authority stated. Talabat Mart will deliver periodic reports to ADAFSA covering participant numbers order volumes sales performance demand trends and opportunities to develop the programme. The programme is expected to diversify sales channels increase demand for local products and assist participants in developing marketing and production plans based on demand data and analytics.

Abu Dhabi’s food production sector reached AED13.3 billion in 2023 and accounted for 36 percent of the UAE’s total food manufacturing output according to ADAFSA data. The emirate draws on more than 25 000 farms and 23 000 livestock holdings for its raw materials. The new MoU adds to efforts to strengthen connections between those producers and end markets.

ADAFSA achieved a 90 percent rating in its 2025 partner satisfaction assessment that surveyed 43 entities.
