The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry received a delegation from the Embassy of Bangladesh in the UAE at its headquarters, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency. Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the Ajman Chamber, led the discussion and stressed the emirate’s focus on building global economic partnerships across diverse sectors. The meeting identified manufacturing, agriculture, services and technology as areas with strong potential for expanded cooperation.
WAM reported that the two sides examined existing trade patterns and obstacles hindering higher volumes of exchange. Bangladesh’s Export Promotion Bureau figures show that two-way trade between Bangladesh and the UAE totalled $1.76 billion in fiscal year 2023-2024. The statistics place Bangladesh’s exports to the UAE at $403 million, led by apparel, textiles and agricultural goods, while imports from the UAE reached $1.35 billion, dominated by petroleum products and chemicals.
The chamber’s statement outlined ambitions to broaden the composition of traded goods beyond current categories. Talks addressed opportunities in pharmaceuticals, information technology, food processing and logistics where both parties identified complementary strengths. Participants committed to sharing detailed data on investment regulations and market conditions to support targeted business linkages.
UAE external trade expanded to Dh6 trillion in 2025, reflecting nearly 15 percent growth from the prior year, according to World Trade Organization statistics. This surge has elevated the UAE to ninth place among global merchandise exporters. The Ajman Chamber intends to support this momentum through targeted diplomatic engagements such as the session with Bangladesh.
Bangladesh’s Ministry of Commerce data identifies the UAE as a leading remittance provider and trading partner in the Middle East, with roughly 1.2 million Bangladeshi nationals employed across the federation. This demographic bridge creates a platform for enhanced commercial activity in both directions. The meeting ended with agreement on subsequent interactions to advance specific joint projects.
Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry records indicate growing international interest in the emirate’s business environment, driven by its location, infrastructure and regulatory incentives. The chamber has conducted parallel discussions with other diplomatic representatives to showcase opportunities in industry, tourism and supply-chain services. These initiatives form part of the UAE’s wider effort to diversify its economy and lift non-oil trade volumes.
