JK Cement announced through the Emirates News Agency that its subsidiary JK DryChem Industries LLC has inaugurated the construction chemicals manufacturing unit in Ras Al Khaimah to meet growing demand for specialised building materials. The AED 6 million facility spans 5,000 square metres inside the Al Ghail Industrial Zone of the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone and began operations in January. It will initially focus on the UAE before expanding shipments to the GCC, Africa and Southeast Asia, according to the company statement. The development forms part of JK Cement’s strategy to deepen its industrial presence in the emirate, which offers strong logistics links through nearby ports.

The company announcement highlighted that the plant is expected to generate around 50 skilled jobs during its first phase while manufacturing liquid admixtures, prepared additives, dry-mix materials and coatings. These products are formulated to improve construction efficiency and support more sustainable building methods across regional projects. JK Cement inaugurates construction chemicals manufacturing unit in Ras Al Khaimah at a time when the emirate is consolidating its status as a manufacturing centre with modern infrastructure and business facilitation services.

Construction Week Online published insights from the sector showing the UAE construction industry has recorded double-digit growth in recent years, increasing the call for high-performance chemical solutions. JK Cement, which the company said already supplies materials to more than 40 countries, selected the location for its proximity to Saqr Port that eases both raw material imports and finished goods exports. The subsidiary’s director signed the lease with RAKEZ representatives at a ceremony held in the emirate’s Compass Coworking Centre.

In remarks carried by multiple industry outlets, Amit Kothari, Director for UAE and Africa Business and CEO of JK DryChem, described the move as aligned with guidance from Managing Director Dr Raghavpat Singhania. “Establishing our base in RAKEZ was a strategic decision aligned with the vision and guidance of our Managing Director, Dr. Raghavpat Singhania,” Kothari said. “The economic zone offers world-class infrastructure, efficient setup services, and a supportive ecosystem that enables our long-term growth in the Middle East and beyond.”

Kothari added that Ras Al Khaimah continues to reinforce its position as a leading industrial hub. He expressed the company’s pride in contributing to the emirate’s manufacturing landscape while scaling regional operations. The unit forms part of a 2025 programme in which JK Cement developed around 60 new construction chemical solutions to address evolving market requirements.

A separate statement from Saint-Gobain indicated that the French firm opened its own construction chemicals plant in the same RAKEZ zone with monthly capacity exceeding 10,000 tonnes. The parallel investments illustrate the emirate’s appeal to international producers targeting both local contractors and export opportunities across the wider region. JK Cement’s facility adds further depth to the growing cluster of advanced materials manufacturers based in Ras Al Khaimah.
