The Higher Organising Committee of the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses announced that 11 horses will compete for the title in Kazan. The race is set to take place on Saturday at the Kazan International Equestrian Sand Racetrack as the 10th stop of the 32nd edition of the series. The Group 1 event will be run over 1,800 metres for horses four years and older with a prize purse of $100,000, according to the Emirates News Agency.
WAM reported that the competition features Purebred Arabian horses from some of Russia’s leading studs. The series is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri chairs the Higher Organising Committee and has expressed pride in the UAE-Russia partnership that has advanced this round of the cup.
In an announcement, Al Dhaheri stated that hosting the event in Tatarstan at Kazan reflects the commitment to engaging with Arabian horse enthusiasts globally. He added that Kazan has consistently welcomed the UAE President’s Cup with excellent organisation and enthusiastic audiences. Representatives from the UAE Embassy in Moscow and the committee are scheduled to crown the winners.
The 32nd edition of the cup has already concluded several legs across Europe, a WAM assessment found. The full series includes multiple international stops designed to support owners and breeders worldwide while promoting the Purebred Arabian horse. Last year’s Polish leg drew a crowd of 20,000 spectators, figures from the organising committee show.
A report from the Higher Organising Committee placed the total number of horses competing across the 32nd edition at 354. The Kazan race is expected to maintain the high calibre seen in prior rounds, with tactical pacing leading to close finishes. The event forms part of efforts to elevate the stature of Arabian horse racing on the global stage.
Organisers have listed the race as one of the most anticipated contests for owners and breeders each year. The narrow margins in previous editions have highlighted the competitiveness of the field. Additional legs are planned in the coming months as the series continues its international tour.
