DP World’s announcement highlighted broad-based growth across its ports, logistics and marine services that compensated for softer performance in the Middle East. Container volumes excluding the Jebel Ali terminal increased by 5.4 percent on a reported basis and 6.5 percent like for like during the first six months of the year. The group recorded higher activity in key regions including Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas, the company reported.

The overall gross container throughput reached 42.8 million TEUs, a 5.7 percent decline from the 45.4 million TEUs handled in the first half of 2025. Excluding Jebel Ali, the throughput figure improved to 39.7 million TEUs from 37.7 million TEUs in the previous corresponding period. Jebel Ali itself continued to operate without interruption or damage even as regional tensions curtailed vessel calls, according to the company.

In response, DP World has broadened its inland connectivity options and deployed additional measures to sustain cargo movements throughout its Middle East network. The operator is further strengthening its UAE footprint by developing two new terminals in Fujairah on a 50-year concession that will integrate with the Jebel Ali system. This expansion will deliver greater flexibility and resilience for cargo owners, the company stated.

Chairman Essa Kazim said, “In the UAE, we are expanding our gateway network with two new terminals in Fujairah, extending the Jebel Ali ecosystem through an integrated supply chain. This will provide cargo owners with greater flexibility, more choice and enhanced supply chain resilience, while reinforcing our confidence in the UAE’s future as a leading global trade and logistics hub.” The development aligns with DP World’s strategy to bolster its position as a premier logistics hub.

Capital expenditure during the first half totaled $1.5 billion as the group directs resources toward capacity additions and infrastructure projects in multiple markets. DP World anticipates investing around $3 billion for the full year of 2026 across the UAE, United Kingdom, India, Saudi Arabia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan pointed to the robust underlying trends.

“Excluding Jebel Ali, Container volumes increased by 6.5% on a like-for-like basis, and adjusted EBITDA increased by 9.7%, with growth across Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe. This performance reflects the strength of our global network and our ability to provide cargo owners with efficient end-to-end supply chain solutions,” Narayan said in the statement. He noted the ongoing emphasis on disciplined capital allocation together with cost control and efficiency improvements to support the balance sheet and liquidity.

DP World expressed that while near-term global trade faces uncertainty the company holds an optimistic perspective over the medium and longer term. The view is underpinned by its extensive international presence and the continued development of its logistics offerings. The latest results build upon the record full-year 2025 performance when revenue expanded 22 percent to $24.4 billion according to the operator’s annual filing.
