This will add to the extensive history of UFC events in the capital. UFC statistics from a 2023 release placed the total number of Abu Dhabi-hosted events at 17, with 201 fights, 324 participating fighters and 14 title bouts. Those cards produced 55 knockouts and 34 submissions, the data showed.
The first UFC event in Abu Dhabi took place in 2010 with UFC 112, which was the promotion’s first outdoor card. Since that time, the emirate has welcomed multiple Fight Nights and pay-per-view events, establishing itself as a cornerstone of the UFC’s international strategy. Etihad Arena has been the primary venue for many of these shows.
