The approval by the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister establishes a unified approach to advancing the national statistical system through coordinated efforts at federal and local levels according to WAM. The programme known as Unified UAE Numbers seeks to position the UAE as a global leader in utilising data and statistics for policy formulation and strategic planning. It integrates contributions from all local governments via their statistical centres while aligning with broader national development objectives.
The initiative concentrates on three core areas that encompass driving a proactive economy supporting people and society and promoting sustainable environments with a focus on renewable energy WAM reported. Collaboration includes the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre local statistical centres executive councils nationwide and private sector partners to create an integrated data environment. This structure aims to ensure that statistics effectively inform decisions at all tiers of government.
During a meeting with statistical centre officials Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the value of existing achievements in the field. He praised the joint work between federal and local authorities including the National Statistics Committee led by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre along with various ministries and agencies. “The achievements in statistics and data in the UAE serve as a cornerstone for ongoing development efforts uniting us as a cohesive national team” Sheikh Mansour said.
The programme will streamline the national statistical release calendar and guarantee accurate production of indicators at the national level according to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre. It promotes a transition to integrated digital surveys that emphasise digital and data integration along with intelligent collection and analysis methods. These measures are intended to generate precise records that enhance international cooperation and reporting on UAE performance.
The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre applies innovative mechanisms to monitor the UAE’s standings on global competitiveness indicators its strategy states. The effort supports the UAE National Agenda which sets indicators across economy health education infrastructure and related fields the UAE Cabinet noted. Improved data availability is expected to bolster the country’s rankings in areas such as GDP inflation foreign investment infrastructure environment and tourism.
