Louvre Abu Dhabi has launched its summer programme offering immersive experiences hands-on workshops family films and wellness events the museum said in an announcement on its website. The activities form part of the Abu Dhabi Culture Summer Camps programme and centre on a new exhibition exploring board games that opened earlier this month. According to the museum’s published schedule the programme seeks to engage families and young visitors with interactive content inspired by its permanent collection.

The centrepiece exhibition A Board Game Adventure opened on July 18 2026 and is set to run until April 25 2027 the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi stated. It examines the role of board games as tools for learning imagination and social connection across different cultures and historical periods. Louvre Abu Dhabi described the display as highlighting how such games have fostered creativity and interaction for centuries.

Summer camps titled A Board Game Adventure run from July 6 to August 7 2026 on Tuesdays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children aged 5 to 14 the museum’s calendar shows. One week costs 500 AED while two weeks are priced at 900 AED according to the published rates. The camps include gallery explorations and activities tied to the exhibition themes.

Art in Motion returns with five film screenings inspired by artworks from the collection every Saturday from July 25 to August 22 at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Auditorium the announcement detailed. Additional weekend programming encompasses wellness sessions and creative play options for families. The museum noted that these events take place alongside its broader seasonal offerings.

The summer initiative builds on previous years’ educational outreach including the 2024 Summer ArtLab that focused on sustainable art practices for participants aged 13 to 25 a prior Louvre Abu Dhabi programme summary indicated. Similar youth activities have been offered consistently since the museum’s opening in 2017 according to records from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. This year’s edition aligns with other Abu Dhabi institutions such as Zayed National Museum which is hosting its own summer camp until August 7.
