Abbott contributes its established portfolio of automated analyzers and high-sensitivity assays designed specifically for oncology applications, the companies said in the announcement. These tools have demonstrated success in detecting tumor markers associated with multiple cancer types in clinical settings worldwide. The agreement includes provisions for staff training and workflow optimization at NRL sites to maximize the benefits of the new systems. Integration is scheduled to begin immediately following the formal signing earlier this month.
World Health Organization data shows that cancers detected at early stages can achieve survival rates exceeding 80 percent for several common forms, compared with much lower figures in advanced cases.
