The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development said in a statement that during the meeting the board examined the Fund’s operational performance along with its recent achievements and the progress made on various development projects it has financed. The directors also held discussions on the organisation’s upcoming strategies while approving several new policies and endorsing multiple financing requests that satisfied the required standards. Board members considered how best to advance the Fund’s objectives in the coming period with a focus on sustainable outcomes across targeted regions.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the important function of the Fund in aiding developing nations to meet their development targets and programmes during his remarks at the session. He commended the entity’s contributions toward worldwide sustainable development initiatives that have strengthened the UAE’s standing as a significant provider of international assistance. Mansour bin Zayed additionally highlighted the Fund’s work in bolstering the national economy through measures that improve the competitiveness of UAE exports and their reach in international markets by means of adaptable financing options that aid domestic firms in expanding abroad.

According to the statement, the gathering brought together several key figures including Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, the Minister of State, and Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation. Other participants were Fares Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Adviser at the Presidential Court, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, and Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Head of the Office of International Affairs at the Presidential Court. The board members also included Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Meera Sultan Al Suwaidi and Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, who serves as the Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi conveyed appreciation to the UAE leadership for its ongoing support and confidence in the Fund’s objectives. He noted that such endorsement motivates the organisation to pursue the UAE’s broader development agenda with renewed vigour. Al Suwaidi further acknowledged the contributions of all board members whose direction has helped the Fund accomplish its goals and realise its vision for sustainable economic and social progress both within the country and internationally.

The Fund reported significant accomplishments during the preceding year that featured growth in the scale of development financing extended to numerous nations around the globe together with an expanded footprint for its overseas investments. In addition the Abu Dhabi Exports Office under the Fund played an instrumental part in boosting the international appeal of products from the UAE. These outcomes align with the strategic direction endorsed by the board to promote sustainable development.

A later assessment by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development showed that it deployed AED562 million across six strategic investments throughout 2025, reflecting the momentum from the April board directives. The organisation, which was founded in 1971, has according to its own figures supported hundreds of projects that have fostered economic growth in partner countries over more than five decades. Such efforts position the UAE as a consistent leader in development cooperation according to reports from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
