The UAE delegation to the BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers Meeting detailed significant workforce gains over recent years while demonstrating how artificial intelligence informs policy decisions to anticipate skills needs and reduce unemployment. Officials stressed the role of data analytics in shaping responsive employment frameworks that support national development priorities. The Emirates News Agency reported that the presentation underscored the UAE’s progress in creating high-value jobs across emerging sectors.

A government assessment found that the National AI Strategy 2031 has driven investments in technology infrastructure and human capital development to establish the country as an innovation hub. This initiative aligns with efforts to diversify the economy and build resilience against global shifts. Integration of AI tools has enabled more precise labour market forecasting according to the strategy’s framework.

A Microsoft AI for Good Lab report places the UAE first worldwide with 59.4 percent of its working-age population using AI tools daily. The high adoption rate has boosted productivity in key industries and supported broader digital transformation goals. Such outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of coordinated policies in technology and education.

Forbes Middle East reported that the UAE is projected to require nearly one million new workers by 2030 to fuel AI projects and digital growth, representing a 12 percent employment surge that exceeds rates in the United States and Britain. This demand has prompted focused reskilling programs to prepare both citizens and residents for evolving job profiles. The labour market expansion reflects sustained economic momentum amid regional and international partnerships.

The International Labour Organisation Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo described the UAE’s AI application in labour analysis as a potential model for other nations, according to a separate WAM interview conducted on the sidelines of an earlier summit. Houngbo noted the system’s ability to equip decision-makers with timely insights for proactive measures. The BRICS platform allowed the UAE to exchange experiences on these advancements with member and partner states.

Discussions at the meeting also explored avenues for joint initiatives in AI governance and cross-border labour mobility within the BRICS framework. UAE representatives outlined ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing workforce participation and regulatory efficiency. The Emirates News Agency indicated that the presentation reinforced the country’s commitment to sharing knowledge that advances collective prosperity among participating economies.
