The gathering brought together local farmers, beekeepers, government bodies and private companies to promote date and honey products while educating the public on production processes.
According to event details, visitors could participate in interactive workshops, watch heritage performances and join competitions designed for all age groups. Free entry and parking helped boost attendance at the festival, which also featured educational sessions on sustainable farming practices that enhance product quality. A total of one million dirhams in prizes were distributed across various categories to recognise outstanding contributions from participants.
UAE authorities place the country’s annual date production at more than 400,000 metric tons, positioning it eighth in global output. A market analysis by MarkNtel Advisors forecasts the UAE dates sector to expand to 1.23 billion dollars by 2030 as demand for premium varieties grows. Such festivals help connect consumers directly with producers and highlight the economic importance of this traditional industry.
The programme emphasised both traditional knowledge and modern techniques used in date cultivation and honey extraction. Attendees met with beekeepers to learn about natural honey varieties and sampled fresh dates along with other local fruits. Competitions encouraged community involvement and celebrated the role of agriculture in Emirati culture.
Organisers from the Ajman Tourism Development Department described the event as a platform to support local farmers and preserve heritage.
