The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team concluded its campaign at the 2026 World Championship with a total of 65 medals according to the Emirates News Agency. The team competed at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi where it participated in competitions across multiple age groups. WAM reported incremental increases in the medal tally with 39 medals secured entering the fourth day of competition and 13 more won in the Under-18 category to reach 52. Subsequent days in the adult divisions brought the final count to 65.
According to WAM the Under-14 World Cup produced 12 medals for the national team. The Under-16 competition yielded 14 medals while the Under-21 World Championship added 13. The Under-18 section contributed 13 and the adult events another 13 to complete the aggregate of 65. This distribution demonstrated consistent performance levels throughout the weeklong championship.
The championship is sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company which the news agency said has been a key partner in the team’s development. WAM noted that the event brought together athletes from various countries to compete in jiu-jitsu at the highest level. The hosting of the championship in the UAE reflects the country’s growing importance in the international jiu-jitsu community.
A WAM report from earlier in the week highlighted the strong start by the women’s team with three gold medals in the adult division. Athletes including Asma Al-Hosani, Balqees Al-Hashmi and Shamma Al-Kalbani secured golds in their respective weight classes according to the agency. These victories contributed to the overall success as the team moved through the later stages of the competition.
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has organized the event as part of its calendar of major tournaments. Previous similar events have seen the UAE achieve high medal counts according to federation records. The 65-medal haul at this world championship adds to the nation’s achievements in the sport.
