Osama Amir Fadhel, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Industrial Accelerators Sector at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, highlighted the industrial sector’s central role in advancing the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative during a statement to the Emirates News Agency on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. Fadhel noted that diverse capabilities ranging from heavy industries to artificial intelligence applications, automation and advanced technological solutions allow the sector to reduce costs, improve efficiency and lower emissions. The official extended an invitation to local and international investors and companies to engage with the platform, which the ministry positions as a gateway for genuine investment opportunities in the region.
Make it in the UAE 2026 will feature an integrated package of enablers, incentives, investment opportunities, financing sources and prospects for international partnerships, according to Fadhel. The ministry expects these elements to enable participating companies to expand from the UAE into markets encompassing more than three billion people worldwide. Such offerings form part of a broader effort to accelerate the transition toward a green economy while reinforcing the country’s standing as a global hub for future industries.
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology is strengthening collaboration with strategic public and private sector partners to raise industrial productivity and competitiveness, Fadhel reported. This coordinated approach follows directives from the UAE leadership to expand the sector’s contribution to gross domestic product and advance the objectives of the Make it in the UAE initiative. Ministry data places the target for industrial growth under the Operation 300bn strategy at AED300 billion by 2031, building on sustained expansion across multiple sub-sectors.
Programmes including the National In-Country Value initiative and technological transformation projects that integrate Fourth Industrial Revolution solutions receive particular emphasis in the ministry’s current work, Fadhel stated. These efforts enhance industrial efficiency, increase the added value of national products, localise advanced manufacturing and promote adoption of artificial intelligence technologies. The initiatives simultaneously strengthen national supply chains, support Emirati talent development and consolidate national presence in varied industrial domains.
Earlier ministry assessments indicate that comparable programmes have accelerated overall industrial growth by creating an enabling environment for investors and operators. A related industrial support scheme is projected to benefit approximately 13,500 companies while generating 25,000 new jobs, according to prior WAM reporting on the national industrial strategy. The platform therefore continues a trajectory of building a competitive, resilient and future-ready industrial ecosystem across the UAE.
