The Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development evaluated recent developments in FedAI, the national technical ecosystem dedicated to agentic AI, along with strategies for its integration across government operations. Chaired by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the session at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi built upon the first phase of the Agentic AI Project, which had prioritised building capabilities, assessing services and setting implementation priorities among federal entities. The Emirates News Agency reported that the council examined specific projects submitted by ministries for deployment using agentic AI technologies in the upcoming phase.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the importance of converting AI tools into measurable developmental outcomes rather than focusing solely on technology acquisition. “At the Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development, we reviewed the latest progress made on “FedAI”, the national technical ecosystem for Agentic AI, and plans to integrate its technologies across all areas of government work,” he said. “We believe the future of governments will be measured not by the technologies they possess, but by their ability to transform them into sustainable developmental value.” He added that the UAE continues to develop a forward-looking government model that sets international benchmarks for excellence.

The review aligns with objectives to apply agentic AI across half of all government services and operations within the next two years. A related assessment outlined the establishment of a customer experience laboratory for testing applications in public services alongside internal competitions to encourage employee participation in creating AI solutions. These measures form part of five tracks addressing operations, strategic priorities, service delivery, technology infrastructure and training.

The developments support the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, which according to official projections aims to generate AED 335 billion in additional economic value by the target date. A Microsoft AI Diffusion report placed UAE AI adoption at 70.1 percent among the working-age population, well above the global average of 17.8 percent. Government figures further show that investments linked to artificial intelligence have exceeded AED 543 billion since 2024.

National capabilities building remains central to the programme, with targets to equip one million people with AI skills by 2027 through coordinated training initiatives and talent attraction policies that include dedicated Golden Visas. The Ministerial Council also considered regulatory updates spanning healthcare, genomics, commercial regulations, telemarketing standards, food safety enhancements and tax system efficiencies during the same meeting. These discussions underscore the cross-sector role of AI in shaping policy and operational frameworks.

Earlier milestones in the Agentic AI rollout include the launch of 32 specialised AI advisers that assist ministers by analysing policies, legislation and global benchmarks around the clock. The system evaluates financial, economic, social and environmental impacts while aligning proposals with national priorities. Such tools are now embedded in both Cabinet proceedings and the work of the Ministerial Council itself.
