UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a message of congratulations to President Jakov Milatović of Montenegro on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, along with His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, dispatched similar messages to both Milatović and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. The Emirates News Agency reported that the messages expressed hopes for continued progress and prosperity for the Montenegrin leadership and its people while highlighting the deep friendship between the two nations.
The communications marked the 20th anniversary of Montenegro’s independence, achieved through a 2006 referendum that separated the country from Serbia. UAE Minister of Culture and Youth Noura Al Kaabi attended the anniversary celebrations on behalf of the UAE President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated. This level of engagement demonstrates the value placed on bilateral relations.

Such undertakings have aided infrastructure improvements and economic expansion in Montenegro.
