Spartan race details show the desert course will incorporate sand dunes along with more than 2,200 feet of elevation gain amid high temperatures. Athletes in the Beast world championship race will cover 21 kilometres with approximately 30 obstacles on November 21 while the Super and Sprint distances will offer shorter but still demanding alternatives on subsequent days. The programme also includes a children’s race on November 21 and an elite team relay championship, providing opportunities for participants of varying ages and abilities. Organisers have emphasised the unique terrain as a defining element of the Abu Dhabi edition.
