The Emirates News Agency reported that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan dispatched a congratulatory message to President Peter Pellegrini of the Slovak Republic to mark the occasion of the country’s National Day. Similar messages were sent by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai as well as His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Vice President Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The communications were addressed to both President Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico conveying wishes for further advancement and well-being of the Slovak nation.

Recent high-level contacts have strengthened relations between the UAE and Slovakia. In January 2026 the UAE president held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Fico to explore enhanced cooperation in economic development renewable energy future technologies and additional fields according to a statement from the Emirates News Agency. The two officials reviewed regional developments with an emphasis on the Middle East situation and the value of dialogue in resolving disputes.

During an October 2025 working visit to Abu Dhabi by the Slovak prime minister the leaders witnessed the exchange of an economic cooperation agreement and an investment memorandum an Emirates News Agency dispatch from the time detailed. Prime Minister Fico conveyed greetings from President Pellegrini at the start of the meeting. The parties reaffirmed the robust nature of their bilateral relationship and its growth across multiple domains.

Slovakia’s National Day falls on September 1 each year. The date commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic in 1992. This annual observance provides an opportunity for international partners like the UAE to extend formal greetings.

The first round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the UAE and Slovakia took place in Bratislava on December 4 2025 the Emirates News Agency indicated. The session was co-chaired by Minister of State Lana Zaki Nusseibeh and Slovak State Secretary Marek Eštok. Discussions centered on ways to boost cooperation in areas of shared interest.

UAE-Slovakia ties have expanded in recent years to include sectors such as innovation sustainability and trade. A series of meetings have aligned the two countries’ priorities in support of sustainable development goals. These diplomatic exchanges reflect the commitment of both governments to nurturing their partnership.
